This week I want to discuss a website with amazing inspiration. Abduzeedo is a design blog who describes their site as "a collection of visual inspiration and useful tutorials." In December of 2006 designer Fabio Sasso founded Abduzeedo to show his views of the design world. The blog quickly became a hit and is now used by people all over the world for inspiration and tutorials. According to their site "Abduzeedo draws in more than a hundred thousand design enthusiasts a day and almost three million in a month." If you don't believe these numbers, just check out the blog for yourself and you'll fully understand. Abduzeedo expresses the importance of the use of feedback into their community which helps connect everyone together. They also allow users to submit images, most ending up on their Daily Inspiration portion of their site, to be shared amongst the community.
Abduzeedo has everything that any designer could hope for, all in one site. Under the tutorial section are subsections for Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Pizelmator, Case studies, and Quick-Tips, allowing a one-stop site for your questions. Its inspiration branches out to an array of people, as it includes Architecture, Illustration, Logos, Photography, Typography, Daily Inspiration, Sites of the Week, and Popular Posts. They also have a section for Wallpapers, displaying some of the beautiful work that the site and users have found and created. Another section, called Interviews, displays articles of interviews that the site has had with many artists (seven pages worth!) and gets to pick their brain about their work and art in general. And as if this isn't enough already to make you fall into obsession with the site, they also offer a section called Jobs in which companies and designers post Job ads allowing you to find the perfect job for you. And if you think these jobs are limited, you're wrong; anyone can post a job listing on the site, including many people in different countries, and the listings go all the way to 29 pages, meaning that there will always be openings available.
As a Graphic Designer I have always tried to find inspiration from many sources, including blogs. When I finally found Abduzeedo, it became my first and almost only source for anything I needed. It's an all-in-one package for design, giving you tutorials, inspiration, interviews, and job postings; what more can you need? You do not need to be a member into to join the site, however I encourage anyone interested in it to do so you can submit articles and work, bookmark pages, receive e-mails, and more. They also have an RSS feed, a Facebook, and a Twitter to help you stay on top of their postings. I can't repeat enough how much of a great site Abduzeedo is and encourage everyone to take advantage of this amazing website.
